AVUTANN
Avutann is a Parisian and Turinese consulting and training company founded in 2004. We work on systemic dynamics, the observable and underlying ones and we work on experiential learning. Our approach is made out of the field principle, our interventions are always tailor-made and can be organized around three poles:

1) Individual and collective Accompaniment of leaders and their teams: role-taking, leadership development, authority exercising.
2) Strategic Diagnosis and internal climate Audits: work on corporate cultures and values as well as on internal systemic conflicts, especially during transition phases: reorganization, succession, post-acquisition periods.
3) International and intercultural relations: based on our origins and pathways, we offer specific interventions related to these subjects.

We have also conveyed our experience through several training courses as well as in intra and inter-company middle-management accompaniment modules.
The team
We have very diverse educational and work backgrounds: finance, human resources, law, sociology, psycho-pedagogy, history. We have all acquired a solid management experience and we come from very different worlds and cultures.

This diversity is very important to us since it gives us the opportunity to cultivate difference, mixing, fertilization and desire: these elements allow us to help our clients develop their own originality during their role-taking within their system.

Born and raised in France, I completed my studies in Lyon without any major issue: high school and intensive preparatory classes for French Business Schools entrance examinations.

I then joined Essec MBA. In addition to studying the various management areas, I specialized in Human Resources. At the same time, I became involved in several student associations - mostly humanitarian and sports ones - and later as President of the students’ council. These experiences aroused my taste for management and team working, developing useful and concrete projects.

My career pathway began within several major international companies, mainly overseas. I practised HR fundamentals in the Italian construction group Condotte, where I encountered a strong industrial reality: a heavy turnover and edgy HR Management. I also met some of the people with whom I subsequently chose to collaborate… In the recruitment team of the French bank Société Générale, I worked in a very solid and technically-expert HR department, which enabled me to acquire the rigour necessary and notions like service and control when dealing with internal clients. It also gave me a good and demystified understanding of what the headquarters of a very large company is.

Afterwards, I moved to Dallas, Texas, to work in the “Académie” department of the Accor group – a French major player in the lodging industry - where I worked on another HR matter: in-house training for employees, each having totally different concerns and requirements from one another. I experienced how a French company can operate in the US and understand how a foreign company, having its own culture, can transform and adapt to a country where the existing cultures are already very diverse.

After that, I joined the Italian group ENI, one of the largest oil and gas players in the world. Starting in the recruitment department, I specialized in the management of international HR issues in Zurich, Switzerland. My career continued in Singapore, as HR Manager of large oil and gas projects: a very front line type of HR management and extremely tense Industrial Relations. From there, I became HR Manager of the Oceania area in Perth, Australia, where in addition to enlarged HR responsibilities, I was in charge of some of the newest company concerns such as local content and sustainable development. During the three years in this area, I also organized the setting up of a branch of the company in a new, high-risk country, Papua New Guinea.

Having demonstrated my capabilities in the field, my career was rising fast. I then wished to use the extensive knowledge I had gained in a more thoughtful approach (which was not really feasible in this context): this desire and the willingness to explore other topics related to the systems’ conscious and unconscious dynamics and to Institutional Transformation led me to join Avutann and become a consultant. For me it has also been the opportunity to work again with some estimated colleagues that I had met earlier in my career.

Proverbe mauritanien

Born in Congo, I grew up in France where I completed all my studies. My family and professional backgrounds lay at the crossing of several cultures: Africa, the Caribbean, France and several religions, Muslim and Christian by birth, or Jewish by alliance. After I obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in private law and a Diploma of Specialized Higher Studies in financial management from the University of Caen, I specialized in auditing and management control at Cides in 1989. This extensive training was strengthened in 2005 by an MBA (Management and Finance) from the John Molson Business School, in Montreal.

Since 1989 I have evolved and progressed within international industrial groups and the public buildings and works sector, where I specialized in the various duties pertaining to financial management and management control. Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to work very closely with international shareholders from England, France, Italy or Scandinavia. This has given me a rare, if not unique, vision of the business world, of work methods in an international environment and of the different shareholding policies and cultures.

I am a recognized expert, detail-oriented, accurate and highly qualified. My career took a significant turn from 1997: I became the friend and main collaborator of Leonardo Veneziani, who was then Chief executive officer of the Condotte Group in charge of France and French-speaking markets. I increased my mastery of auditing and management control techniques by applying them to meet the shareholder’s strategic requirements: reorganization, restructuring, intercultural difficulties linked to the type of business or country, acquisitions and strategic transfers.

Since 2000 I have continued to evolve , primarily as Transition Manager, within international groups where I set up, for the shareholder, a high technical level suited to the strategic needs, thus widening the scope of my direct experience of the industrial world (Faurecia, Valeo, ABB, Renault), the service sector (Rhodia Energy) and the commercial world (Ahlstrom).

As the periods of transition and transformation taking place in companies can only be conducted through combining cultural and strategic aspects with technical and financial issues, I have joined Avutann with the aim of pursuing the work on the particular bond, occurring during a merger-acquisition process, between issues which are mainly of auditing technique type and real strategic concerns. Within this framework I have brought my enlightened know-how.

Today I mostly offer my services to clients requesting an upgrade of their management and accounting methods, in the case of larger-scale cases of company groupings, M&As, external or internal growth. Among other things, I take part in the auditing activities of the team, by leading the technical team, in close connection with the members in charge of following the strategic evolutions.

I was born in Italy 50 years ago and I lived in Turin till the end of my studies in law; after having started working in law firms, I went to the United States. I was originally going to simply take a sabbatical year to discover the new world; I finally staid there several years, which strongly changed my way of seeing the world and my way of relating to it.
From the Unites States I moved to Central America where, thanks to my languages knowledge, I worked as a consultant of an Italian construction group, specialized in waste management. I came back to Italy ten years later, enriched by new ideas and new projects: for me the contact with different cultures and lifestyles had put in question the principles and rules inculcated in my education allowing me to acquire new adaptation capabilities which I would have never been able to get by staying in Europe.

When I came back, I wasn’t really interested in staying in a purely law frame; I then became a building contractor, especially interested in real-estate development; this activity is still a part of my professional life. On this path, in 2003, I decided to hand over and to boost a non profitable Foundation dedicated to under-18s which had been started by my family ninety years before and which had been sleeping for several years and whose primary task is to work the transformation of youngsters’ social unrest.
The desire to understand, to give a meaning to emotions and experiences and to be in tune with the others’ experience pushed me to contact an advisor in leadership in order to help me to shape and to give consistence to my projects and to my desires, to transform them into experience and into future opportunities.
Thus a long learning path began, including conferences organized by the International Forum for Social Innovation, which I am now a member of. The discovery and the understanding of my own history triggered a discernment and challenge mechanism that today gives me too the desire for something more. I joined Avutann for this reason: opening, work on emotions and on boundaries, in order to transform ourselves and to transform.

Besides a preference for transition situations and for generational passages in family companies I am involved in international developments, in direct connection with my intercultural experience and with an attentive look to innovative activities dedicated to countries under development.
